A client tenant breaks at 9pm and your one senior engineer is asleep. I take that escalation. Exchange Online, Entra ID and tenant-level Microsoft 365 work, delivered as part of your team, on weeknights, weekends and public holidays.
Brisbane based, remote Australia-wide. I do not approach your clients.
Most providers cover business hours properly and then thin out. These are the windows where an extra senior pair of hands is worth having on the list.
4pm through to 6am, Monday to Friday
All day Saturday and Sunday, including cutover windows
Queensland and national, the days your roster is thinnest
Times are Brisbane. Queensland does not observe daylight saving, so allow an hour of difference for clients in New South Wales or Victoria over summer.
Your first and second line handle the volume. This is the work that sits above it, where the answer is not in a runbook and the client is losing money while somebody reads documentation.
An overflow help desk. Password resets, printer queues and mailbox permission requests are cheaper for you to keep in house, and sending them to me at $150 + GST an hour would be a poor use of your margin. Send the work that stalls, not the work that queues.
Fifteen minutes on how escalations should reach me, what your client base looks like, and where your coverage actually stops. You get the response protocol agreed up front, so you know what happens when you call before you ever need to. There is no partner programme, no tiers, no portal and no accreditation to sit.
You decide whether I work in your tools or my own, under your brand or behind it. Access is least privilege with an expiry, and I tell you which role a piece of work needs before you grant anything.
You get what changed, what was ruled out and what I would do next, in a form you can paste straight into your own ticket. Your client hears it from you, in your words.
$150 + GST per hour ($165 inc GST), itemised against your ticket references. No minimum spend, no retainer and no monthly commitment, so a quiet month costs you nothing.
Some providers want the client to know a specialist was brought in. Others would rather the capability simply appear to be theirs. Both are fine, and I do not change between them without asking you first.
I appear as a member of your team. Your ticketing system, an address on your domain if you issue one, your name on anything the client sees. Notes are written so they read as yours.
I never touch the client at all. You relay what I need and what I found, and the only relationship in play is the one you already have. Slower on the detail, invisible by design.
This is the one thing that stops an MSP owner picking up the phone, so it belongs at the top of a page rather than in clause 14 of a subcontractor agreement.
Plainly: I do not contact your clients outside the work you send me. I do not market to them during an engagement or after it ends. If one of them approaches Hamilton365 directly, I tell you and refer them back to you.
Hamilton365 does sell managed IT to its own clients, so I am not going to claim the services never overlap. What I will not do is use access you gave me as a way in. Send me your subcontractor agreement and your non-solicitation clause and I will sign them before the first job.
The commercial logic runs the same way. An overflow arrangement that holds for years is worth considerably more to a one-person specialist practice than a single client taken once, and every MSP in Brisbane would hear about it by the following week.
Hamilton365 is Jamie Hamilton. By day I run Identity and messaging infrastructure for one of Queensland's largest education providers: a 200,000-user environment across 150+ sites, where a badly scoped Conditional Access policy is an incident rather than a ticket. MCSE certified, 25+ years in the field, 100TB+ of mailbox data moved into Exchange Online.
That background matters here for one reason. When you escalate at 9pm you are not buying availability, you are buying the odds that whoever picks up has seen the failure before. Hybrid free/busy that stops resolving after a certificate rolls, a Conditional Access policy that locks out the break-glass account, a transport rule that quietly strips headers and breaks DKIM downstream. These are recognisable, not researchable, and the difference is two hours of your night.
I also design and run automated lifecycle governance for thousands of shared mailboxes at that scale: time-boxed access with periodic review, enforced hold and audit settings, usage-based archiving. If a client of yours has a governance problem underneath the incident, I will say so rather than close the ticket and leave it for you to find later.

Tell me where your coverage stops. No form-filling exercise, it goes to me and I answer it personally, usually the same day.
